Beauty and Personal Care ▪Shave Cream: Instead of shaving cream, use coconut oil. Not only will it help protect skin from nicks with the razor, it will hydrate the skin at the same time. ▪Eye Makeup Remover: Instead of petroleum-based products or even instead of buying a separate eye makeup remover, use coconut oil. Not only does it get rid of all traces of eye makeup including waterproof eye makeup, it does so gently. Added bonus is that coconut oil can help lashes grow long! ▪Body Moisturizer: Skip the body lotion and use coconut oil instead for silky smooth arms, legs, anywhere etc. Before bed in the winter, apply coconut oil to dry skin on feet, put on socks, and wake up the next morning with softer skin. Or apply it to chapped hands before bed, put on cotton gloves and wake up with healthier, hydrated skin. ▪Face and Body Scrubs: Mix with coarse sugar to make lip scrub or a body scrub. Mix with coarse salt or Himalayan crystal salt for a facial scrub. ▪Bath Soak for Dry Skin: Add a few drops to your bath for all-over softness. ▪Oil Pulling: Use coconut oil in oil pulling, the method of mouth cleaning and oral hygiene that has recently become popular that entails swishing oil around the mouth and through the teeth. These are just a few of the zillions of uses for coconut oil. I’m sure you’ve got some of your own that I hope you’ll share in the comments. 🙂 Now, let’s get the skinny on Skinny Coconut Oil. Are All Coconut Oils The Same? I thought that all coconut oils were the same. Coconut oil is coconut oil, right? So I went to a large natural foods supermarket near my home, and I bought the store brand of coconut oil. It was a pale beige color, and it had no discernible scent. I used it for cooking, and it seemed fine. I used it as a moisturizer, but it didn’t moisturize very well for me. I wasn’t very excited about using it in all the ways that I outlined above. Finally, I ended up putting it in the cupboard and forgetting about it. Before it arrived, I thought it would be the same as the coconut oil that is collecting dust in my pantry. When I took the bottle of Skinny Coconut Oil out of the box, it looked different to me immediately. In addition to the packaging being much more eye-catching, appealing, and modern, the coconut oil itself looked different: it is white. I took the top off of the jar and took a sniff. The coconut oil has a lovely light coconut scent that I love. It both looks and smells like coconuts! adopt from nature beauty Share this:Click to share on Twitter (Opens in new window)Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window)Click to share on Google+ (Opens in new window) Related Previous post 30 Family-Friendly Recipe Ideas Your Baby Will Love Next post 5 of the Healthiest Fish to Eat (and 5 to Avoid) 1 Comment Jack: My flip, my turn.?
